Front Parlor is a place to tell, and listen to other people tell, five minute stories around a designated theme. True stories, no notes. It’s kind of like The Moth radio hour, which has become pretty popular on public radio and in cities around the country. In our region, we have three local Front Parlor events each month with some pretty talented storytellers. First-time storytellers and veterans alike get lots of love from the audience. Or, just come and listen.

TONITE’S TROY FRONT PARLOR HAS BEEN CANCELLED!

Due to our March Snowmageddon, the Ale House will be closed this evening, and we’ll be moving the theme of “Reckless” to our April Front Parlor which will be held on Tuesday, April 11th. Abby Lublin will be returning to Troy to guest host! Hope to see you in April. Stay warm & safe tonite.

Tuesday, March 14 @ The Ale House in Troy
Hosted by Ashok Ramasubramanian
7:30 – 9:30 pm
680 River Street
Troy, New York 12180
Theme: “Reckless”
A reckless decision can derail your life, or save it. Loving someone with reckless abandon is exhilarating, but being reckless with a heart can break it. Sometimes recklessness can be like falling, in the way that flying sometimes looks – and feels – like falling. Come and share your tale of recklessness.

Monday, March 20 @ the Olde English Pub in Albany
Hosted by Gregor Wynnyczuk
7:30 – 9:30 pm
Quackenbush Square
683 Broadway
Albany, New York 12207
Theme: “Leap of Faith”
You don’t have to be faithful to take a leap of faith. You just have to be confident things will work out no matter what. Well, either confident or desperate . . . Either way, the leap is a bold move toward an uncertain outcome. Come share the stories of those outcomes at the Albany Front Parlor.

Tuesday, March 21 @ Two Brews, Bennington, VT
Hosted by Forest Byrd
7:00 – 9:30 pm
Story Night at Two Brews
230 North Street
Bennington, Vermont 05201
Doors open at 7, Stories start at 7:30 Come early for a place to sit.
Theme: Luck of the Draw
Whether it’s good or bad, luck runs the show. Let’s hear about an element of chance that you’ve experienced in your life; a time you rolled the dice and lived with the outcome. Interpret how you will. No notes, no props, true from you.

Share widely.

If you’d like to throw your name in the can to tell a story, and you know you’ll be a little late, post a comment here.

See you ’round the mic. And as always… Listening is an act of love.
